Write and organize pages

Create pages, arrange them into a clear hierarchy, and edit their titles, descriptions, and URLs.

Pages appear in the same hierarchy in the dashboard and on your published documentation site.

Create a page

  1. Open a site and select Pages.
  2. Select Create page.
  3. Enter a title.
  4. Start writing in the editor.

To create a child page, use the add button beside its intended parent in the page tree.

Arrange the page tree

Drag a page to a new position, or open its options and select Move page. You can place it:

  • Before another page
  • After another page
  • Inside another page
  • At the top level

Moving a parent also moves all of its descendants. Moving a published page may change its public URL, so check any links that point to it.

Page details

Each page has:

  • Title - shown in navigation and at the top of the page
  • Description - an optional summary used for search and links
  • URL slug - the final segment of its public address
  • Body - the page content

Use lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens in URL slugs. Slug changes take effect when you publish.

Find a page

Use the search button above the page tree to find a page by title or path.
